Build your bespoke workshop
Step 1: Decide on the length of your workshop
1 hour - Taster
Ideal as a stand-alone activity or an engaging add-on, this workshop is designed to allow your guests to dip their toes into calligraphy.
They will be introduced to the basic strokes and the alphabet, culminating in completing a simple project that allows them to put their newfound skills into practice.
2 Hours - Signature
Our two-hour workshops are by far our most popular option.
Choose between Beginner sessions, mastering essential nib and ink techniques, or Improver workshops, refining skill through flourishes and project planning. Both levels create two customized projects reflecting your theme, brand, or event.
3 hours - Comprehensive
Our most in-depth offering for stand-alone workshops. This workshop provides your guests with our most thorough grounding in the art of calligraphy.
After mastering the essential techniques, they will begin to refine their skills e.g creating flourishes and working on different mediums.
A comprehensive calligraphy workshop includes the creation of three customized projects.

We have worked with The Creative Quill on several occasions, and they have been excellent. Natasha is professional and clearly passionate about calligraphy, and this rubs off beautifully on her participants. We look forward to welcoming the workshops back into our busy event calendar for 2024.

FAQs
-
Our workshops are designed to be engaging and informative for participants of all skill levels. We typically start with an introduction to the materials and basic techniques of calligraphy, followed by guided practice sessions where participants can learn and refine their skills. We also offer creative prompts and exercises to encourage exploration and expression through calligraphy.
-
We require a well-lit and spacious room with enough tables and seating for the participants. Ideally, the room should have access to water or a sink for cleaning materials or washing hands. If not available in the workshop space itself, access to nearby restrooms is sufficient. We're happy to discuss specific arrangements if needed, ensuring a comfortable learning environment.
-
In most cases, we provide all the necessary materials for the workshop, including calligraphy pens, paper, ink and handouts. However, for advanced workshops or specialized sessions, we may recommend additional materials, which we will communicate clearly beforehand
-
The ideal workshop size depends on the space available and the desired level of interaction. We can comfortably handle small groups of 5-10 participants and can adapt our approach for larger groups up to 20 depending on the venue's capacity and layout.
-

While we don't offer catering directly, we have strong relationships with local businesses that can provide delicious afternoon tea options or other refreshments to complement your calligraphy workshop.
We are happy to accommodate your preferred catering arrangements. Many venues can provide light refreshments or snacks for workshops, and we can adapt the workshop schedule to allow breaks for these.
